Some types of reusables take longer to dry than others. This is depends on the material and nappy type. For example, bamboo nappies take a long time to dry naturally whereas fleece come out of the machine almost dry. Terries, pre-folds and pocket nappies tend to dry more quickly than shaped or all-in-ones nappies (depending on the material). If you have a combination of drying facilities, choose the one you'll use most often.

Poppers can be tricky to fasten on wriggly babies and toddlers but are more durable and secure (harder for babies to undo!) than hook and loop. Hook and loop is easiest to fasten and adjust - just like disposables - so great for wriggly babies or if other people will be caring for your baby (nurseries, grandparents etc.). However, it is easier for babies to undo (although nappies are under clothing most of the time) and tends to be less durable than poppers if using the nappies on multiple children.

If this is your first baby and you're planning to breast feed - fantastic! But a just a quick warning that breast fed poo is pretty runny stuff (it's not unpleasant though - even Mr Hunnybums would agree it smells strangely sweet!). It requires good containment, and although all reusables will give much better containment than a disposable (yes, really!), two-part nappies are the ultimate in defence against poo! The wrap gives an extra line of defence. If you're planning to breast feed long-term, this is probably worth considering.

Wear and tear is greater on onesize nappies than on sized nappies. If you're planning to use on future children this may be worth considering. Although if cared for lovingly, all reusables should last well.
